I got into genealogy the way many of my clients do: chasing my own family. I traced my Mayflower and SAR lines record by record, and I didn’t stop until the citations held.
That’s still how I work. With formal training in history and years of program and research work behind me, I go to the original records and follow the evidence wherever it leads. Sometimes that confirms the family story, and sometimes it doesn’t. Either way, I’ll tell you what can be proved and what can’t.
Through Deep Roots, I help clients with lineage society applications, family and house histories, and archive retrieval, and I give talks grounded in original records. Whatever the project, you’ll get a report you can hand to a registrar, a relative, or your future self.
I’m based near Schaumburg, Illinois, and work with clients anywhere.
